Did Your Children Get Everything They Asked Santa For?

Image
Well that's it Christmas is over (at least for another 348 days)! The decorations are all packed away and the festive food all munched. A huge amount of presents were opened and have all found somewhere to live in our houses but did your child get everything they asked Santa for? We put out a mince pie and glass of milk for Santa and an apple for his reindeer. Blake and Oakley put there sacks by the fire with a note from Blake before snuggling down to sleep ready to be up at the crack of dawn the next day. I know for a fact Blake didn't get everything on his list nor was he ever likely too when his list included a pet robin (yes, the bird), a pet goldfish, an Xbox and 30 chocolate bars. Despite writing to Father Christmas to ask for these things when I asked him what he wanted he just said that he'd be happy what ever Santa brings as he always brings great things. I think he ate his body weight in sweet things so he was a very happy boy! He says the favourite things h...

Paddington

Image
Have you seen "Paddington"? I did last Tuesday and loved him. Its an endearing tale of the adventures of the young bear's journey from Darkest Peru to London, and his  love for Marmalade sandwiches. The animation of Paddington is unbelievable, I was total convinced by his adorable facial  expressions and polite mannerisms. Its worth a watch if your in a christmasy cuddly mood.   Paddington is quite an interesting character. The story in itself brings up the issues of immigration. I was reading an article that reviews the film from an immigration lawyers point of view. This bear has this idealized vision of London to be a friendly, welcoming and polite place. When in fact he finds it is the opposite. Dose this bring up a prospective of how London is viewed from an outsider?   However this story does have a happy ending, and that's what I like to see. If I saw this little bear at a station I would definitely take him home. If you fancy having a bea...

Toyday is back on eBay!

Image
Toyday originally started as a shop on eBay back in 2003 as Adam and Emily's little side project.  Stock was stored and packed from the comfort of their spare room,  but demand for Toyday's great traditional and classic toys increased and so Looe shop was opened and www.toyday.co.uk was launched! A couple of years later Totnes shop opened, which offered a slightly bigger sized shop floor, but also a stock room downstairs where orders could be packed easily (when .  However, demand on eBay decreased slightly and it seemed to be more of a second hand zone so Toyday decided to focus on improving their own website sales.  Over the last year or so eBay seem to have relaunched themselves, where you can find almost anything you're looking for old and new, so naturally Toyday wanted to be part of this, especially before Christmas. Thus, a decade later, Toyday is back on eBay !   As with the Toyday website, the eBay shop offers a flat rate of £2.95 postage and pa...

I am in love with all things traditional, classic and vintage. For example furniture, kids toys, kitchen ware etc. This year for Christmas i have to buy all brand new Christmas decorations, and i know exactly what im going to be getting. I personally think that the traditional Christmas decorations look so charming compared to some new ones. Here's some pictures as an example.
