The Joy of a Den is in the Building of it

Image
You can make a den or hide out from just about anything. Above is a den we made with Blake using pallets and an old garden gate. The garden has grown up around it now making it look more attractive. He didn't want a shop brought Wendy house which was fine with us. He has set his den up as his laboratory, full of his 'potions'. A child's imagination seems to come alive in a den.   We were lucky enough to get enough snow to make this cool snow den. It took all day but it was worth it when at the end we lit a few candles inside and sat in it with some hot chocolate and cookies.   It's great that parks seem to have cottoned on to how much children love dens and you will often find one of these living willow dens in playgrounds now.   We sell a colour your own castle for £25 made from card that you simply slot together and then colour. Its great fun making a den together and this set really gets them involved. Then they can get dressed up and ro...

Keep Cool In The Garden and Have Fun With Water

The sun is finally out so let the fun begin! Unreal the hose pipe and start playing.... There's so much fun to be had with water. Water Fight - Arm your children with water bombs and water pistols, then let them battle it out. Hook a Duck - Fill a big bucket, tub or paddling pool with water and throw in some hook a ducks for children to fish out. This is a great idea for kids parties. If you can't get ducks you ...

Now that the weathers getting warmer I want to get my little girl outside more, but having a newborn baby sometimes makes long day trips out a little difficult especially when it comes to keeping them cool and in the shade. So until my little baby is a little bit older I've decided that im going to buy some more toys and games for Elisia to play in the garden with. So here are a few of my top choices that we have in store! The Dinosaur bubble blower . I'm forever being asked to blow the bubbles so that Elisia can run around the garden and chase them. This way she can make the bubbles herself if im busy with the little one, providing hours of bubble fun! Gardening tools perfect for those little hands! Now I have help doing the gardening which is great for spending some one on one time with my 2 year old. She loves playing in the mud and getting dirty.     There's nothing better than cooling down in the heat with a good old water fight! Chasing each othe...
